As manned aviators, airline pilots are guided by the Civil Aviation Authority to a maximum of 1,000 hours of flight time in any 12 consecutive calendar months. With an average working year of 2000 hours in the UK, commercial pilots regularly hold second jobs.

At Atlas Aviation we believe that the high degree of training and experience of commercial airline pilots should be maximised in their periods of time off, and can be utilised in the unmanned industry. That's why our teams consist of commercially rated airline pilots working during time off from their roles with UK carriers. Retaining rolling teams, as well as a fixed full time team, Atlas Aviation has a minimum two teams on standby throughout the year.
