Types of drone shots for real estate
There are 4 main common aerial drone shots for property, they are
1. Top Down
2. Oblique
3. Pole Shot
4. Twilight shot
Top-Down Shot
This shot captures the location from directly above, providing potential buyers with an understanding of the size of the location. This shot is particularly effective when adding annotations such as dimensions, frontage, and area boundaries in post-processing.
Oblique Shot
This is a 45-degree angle shot taken about 200m from the property. The location should be in the bottom third of the frame to include the surrounding area and points of interest.
Pole Shot
This shot is taken from a height of 15-20m, just above tree line or powerlines, with the drone shooting straight-on or on a slight angle to the front of the location. This shot is quicker and simpler than pole photography, where a camera is mounted on top of a pole.
Twilight
This shot creates a sense of ambiance and is taken just after last light. It requires a calm night and for all the location's lights to be on. The twilight shot is a combination of pole and oblique angles.
In our next article, we will explain how to execute these drone photography shots for property.
